    Apache - Apache’s micaceous clay (920º-1000ºC)

    Apache’s micaceous clay. The recipe of that clay comes from the Apache descent, Felipe Ortega, placed in New Mexico, and it reproduce the old tradition of micaceous clay pottery over 400 years ago. The body is composed by white mica and low coefficient red clays. Mica confers elasticity and makes pottery immediately identifiable. Its original Apache character is achieved after wood firing.

Its firing colour is orangey-red in oxidising atmosphere. Its fine texture makes it ideal for throwing and modelling. Exceptional behaviour while drying.
