The work 'QUI M'HA TOCAT?' by Patricia Tamayo Peréz , made with ANETO porcelain by SIO-2®, claims the lack of social recognition of women's work. It has a double reading: on the one hand it presents the female identity with the artist's imprint on each piece. On the reverse, the relief of the latex wash glove that is hidden, represents the female domestic work, so invisible by society. The thread represents the union that women have woven over the years.

Dimensions: 70 cm long x 30 cm wide

Description of the work:

Aware of the situation of vulnerability of women, 'QUI M'HA TOCAT?' seeks to demonstrate a reality that has been hidden from social and labor recognition.

It is a work that has a double reading. On the one hand, it refers to the woman's own identity and, on the other, she makes visible the female domestic work, which goes unnoticed by society. Thus, the mark shows the identity of the woman with her qualities, such as surrender or motherhood among others, as well as her sensitivity, sensuality, her eroticism ...

The work is a second skin that is in contact with the skin of the body. A second skin formed by a set of unique and woven individual pieces, which represent the female collective. Each piece has the artist's footprints, on the one hand, and on the other it has the relief of the traditional latex glove of work engraved, as a symbol of the invisible work that women do. In addition, each piece joins with the next with thread. The thread, then, is the metaphor of intersectoral union without social difference that seeks to dignify and manifest its task within society.

* Note: in the middle of this work there is thread that comes from an original coil produced in the Fabra i Coats factory in Sant Andreu, made by the women who worked.

The work is exhibited at Enjoia't 2019, from September 27 to November 17 at the Barcelona Design Museum.
