    Una vez finalizado el objeto, dejarlo secar al aire. La dureza y la resistencia máximas se obtienen entre 1 y 4 días a temperatura ambiente. En piezas pequeñas, el secado se puede acelerar utilizando un secador de mano, proyectando el calor de manera uniforme por toda la pieza. En este caso, el tiempo para obtener la máxima dureza y resistencia se reduce a minutos (no utilizar secadores en el caso de tamaños medianos/grandes o formas planas). Puede aumentarse adicionalmente la dureza finalizando el secado en horno doméstico entre 100 y 110ºC. ATENCIÓN: durante el secado, la arcilla contrae. Cuanta más agua contenga la arcilla, mayor será su contracción de secado. Por lo tanto, es aconsejable no agregar agua adicional a la arcilla de modelar, de lo contrario pueden aparecer grietas. CONSEJO: dejar secar la pieza sobre una superficie absorbente (idealmente madera o yeso).
