Green earthenware
Green earthenware clay. Its green colour in oxidising atmosphere is a highlight in the range of low firing colours. Its fineness and plasticity make it an excellent choice for wheel- throwing and modelling. Very good behaviour with standard pottery glazes. Available in extruded body (moist form).
Firing range*: 1050-1080ºC / Cone 05-03
Water content (throwing): 19%
Plasticity (IP Atterberg): 15
Carbonate content (CaCO3): 16%
Drying shrinkage: 5.1%
Firing shrinkage 1050ºC: -0.1%
Porosity (water absorption) 1050ºC: 12.8%
Dry bending strength: 4.3 N/mm2
Fired bending strength 1050ºC: 36.1 N/mm2
Thermal coefficient 1050ºC (25-500ºC): 72.2x10^-7ºC^-1
(*) Firing range recommended for the clay to develop its best performance, both in terms of technical and safety characteristics, under conventional firing conditions. The colour samples may show temperatures outside the recommended range to provide a broader view, but these are pieces fired under controlled conditions.
