EL212 Spotted Walnut 118ml (4oz)
Esmalte MAYCO Elements. Temperatura de cocción: 1000ºC - 1030ºC
Inspired by nature, Elements™ glazes produce lush, organic, and earthy tones. These high-performance glazes offer artists a wide variety of options, as glaze application, firing temperature, and shape all influence the final result of the piece. They can be combined or layered to create unique shades, ranging from glossy to matte, with subtle variations in each color.
To use them correctly, shake the glaze for five to six seconds before use and apply it with a soft brush or sponge. Make sure to fully load the brush and apply each coat in the same direction. Apply three to four coats to your piece, allowing each coat to lose its wet appearance before applying the next. For large surfaces, use a wide, soft fan brush. Let the piece dry completely before firing, and a medium firing rate (120ºC per hour) is recommended to cone 06 (1000ºC).
Designed to be fired at 1000ºC-1030ºC (cone 06/05), many Elements™ glazes also perform very well at higher temperatures. Check the individual color label for performance details at cone 6 (1240ºC). At these temperatures, they tend to flow, so the orientation in which the glazed ware is fired (flat or vertical) can greatly affect the appearance. Due to glaze movement, it is recommended to limit application to the lower third of a vertical piece to prevent it from running.
NOTE: The color sample in the first photo corresponds to a firing at 1000°C (cone 06), while the second image shows the result at 1240°C (cone 6).
