ALETSCH porcelain with molochite 5kg
Porcelain with molochite
ALETSCH is a white porcelain with 20% molochite grog 0.2-0.5 mm. Molochite offers a particular texture and confers and excellent behaviour during drying and firing. Its formula is very stable and provides a secure firing range between 1230 and 1270°C. Suitable for tableware (food-safe), according to ISO 6486. Available in extruded body (moist form). Presented in a practical 5 kg cylindrical format with double packaging.
Firing range*: 1230-1270ºC / Cone 6-8
Biscuit temperature: 1000ºC
Water content: 20%
Plasticity (IP Atterberg): 8
Carbonate content (CaCO3): 0%
Drying shrinkage: 4.0%
Firing shrinkage (1250ºC): 7.7%
Porosity (water absorption at 1250ºC): 0.2%
Dry bending strength: 1.6 N/mm2
Fired bending strength (1250ºC): 22.5 N/mm2
Thermal coefficient (25-500ºC): 52.7x10^-7ºC^-1
(*) Firing range recommended for the clay to develop its best performance, both in terms of technical and safety characteristics, under conventional firing conditions. The colour samples may show temperatures outside the recommended range to provide a broader view, but these are pieces fired under controlled conditions. Cone equivalence according to Orton table for self-supporting cones, regular-SSB and 150ºC/hr heating rate.
