Giffin Grip model 10

The Giffin Grip Model 10® is a holding and centering system designed to make trimming leather-hard ceramic pieces directly on the pottery wheel easier and faster. It allows pieces to be quickly, gently and securely re-centered and held in place, significantly reducing preparation time before trimming.

Its sliding arms and rods move simultaneously towards the center, keeping the piece correctly positioned while you work. This system adapts to a wide variety of shapes and sizes and can hold pieces up to approximately 35.5 cm in diameter.

In addition to speeding up the centering process, the Giffin Grip Model 10® provides stable support without the need to secure the piece with balls of clay, making work more comfortable and reducing the risk of the piece shifting during trimming.

Once the initial adjustment to the wheel has been completed, the system can be quickly fitted and removed, making it convenient for regular workshop use.

In addition to trimming, it can be used for other tasks such as waxing the base of pieces, sanding, banding, glazing and decorating.

The Giffin Grip Model 10® is compatible with most pottery wheels on the market, including models from Shimpo, Brent, Speedball and Skutt, among others. Its mounting system uses lower brackets and can be installed on wheels with a removable splash pan or with sufficient side clearance to accommodate its approximately 42 cm diameter plates.

It is compatible with wheel heads approximately 21.5 to 43 cm in diameter.
