PGV tableware clay 12.5kg
Tableware clay
Tableware clay. It is especially formulated for making tableware with high impact resistance. Firing at medium temperature (1150ºC). Its white colour after firing provides and excellent ware for glazes and colouring oxides, being a clay suitable for many applications. Its fine texture makes it ideal for wheel-throwing and modelling. Available in extruded body (moist form).
Firing range*: 1150-1180ºC/ Cone 1-4
Water content: 21%
Plasticity (IP Atterberg): 14
Carbonate content (CaCO3): 0%
Drying shrinkage: 6.3%
Firing shrinkage 1180ºC: 6.5%
Porosity (water absorption) at 1180ºC: 0.1%
Dry bending strength: 6.2 N/mm2
Fired bending strength 1180ºC: 42.7 N/mm2
Thermal coefficient 1150ºC (25-500ºC): 65.9x10^-7ºC^-1
(*) Firing range recommended for the clay to develop its best performance, both in terms of technical and safety characteristics, under conventional firing conditions. The colour samples may show temperatures outside the recommended range to provide a broader view, but these are pieces fired under controlled conditions. Cone equivalence according to Orton table for self-supporting cones, regular-SSB and 150ºC/hr heating rate.
